"Why do you want to be a veterinarian"?

Don't tell them it's because you don't like people. They will laugh at you.

Most of all, the interview committee is going to appreciate an honest answer. They will be able to tell if you're just spitting out something that you think will sound good. So, you're going to have to figure out the true answer and only you can do that.

Many veterinarians also have a love of science and solving puzzles. Often it's also a desire to serve the community in some way

I think you have to look into your own heart/head for that answer. Most say because they love animals and they want to provide the best care possible so that all can live long, healthy, happy lives. Nothing wrong with that answer.

Insurance is cheaper.

Animals can't sue for malpractice.

Every interviewer asks this question when students apply for veterinary school; how do I find my own answer?

I'm trying to look beyond the "I love animals", partially because I know interviewers hate that answer and partially because I know my reasoning is deeper. I just...can't put my finger on it.
