Most animal based jobs are done because it is something you love and not because of what you make. That is not to say that you cannot survive off of the pay, but with the vast majority of the jobs do not expect to be living in a mansion. :) Many you can make over six figures but those jobs to start are few and far between... most of the higher paying jobs you get after years of work, more or less not entry level positions.
I do not have a zoology degree but I have a related bio science degree and I work at a zoo. My husband also has a related degree and works at a zoo too.
The pay might not be hot at times but we budget, have a home, cars and still take vacations. Just have to be smart with your money. What is nice is even though most of the jobs do not pay well there are usually good benefits... our health is amazing. Also have dental, vision, retirement, etc, etc, etc. Not to mention being around animals. :)
if youve studied zoology at all what do you do for your job and how hard is it to find work? is it enjoyable or worth the pay?
