1. Plants which bear fruit provide food for animals, and in turn the animals spread the seeds of said fruit to new locations in the forest.
2. Trees and plants provide shelter for animals, whether it be bird nests inside hollowed branches or simply prividing structure which allows some animals to escape predation.
3. Quite a few animals feed on the trees/plants themselves.
Other examples of interaction include animal-animal predation, and falling vegetation becoming a food source for decomposers on the forest floor.
