Not if you are careful as bees always die when they sting. I am always rescuing bees from pavements and putting them onto a flower or somewhere else safe. Bumble bees that get wet and cannot fly so I bring them home, put them in a cup until they dry off then release them to fly off. Bees need protecting!
I think they know that they are not being threatened as I have been doing this for years and have never been stung yet. I have had some funny looks from people though!
