Not likely. Birds are protective of their eggs but those of another bird. What you think is abandoned it probably not, just waiting for mom to return to lay another. It will not come back if it sees you near.
Will a parakeet adopt an egg? I mean if i found a abandoned nest outside and out an egg in the cage in a nest with a female parakeet will it care for it?
