Why won't my cockatiel shut up?

Posted at: 2014-11-15
All she has in the world is you. When you leave, she is alone and lonely. Part of the reason we enjoy having these kinds of birds is that they respond to us. They respond because they normally live with a mate or in a flock, in other words they have constant companionship every day.

Can you get a boy cockatiel?

After 11 years she has decided she loves you. Try speaking to to her while your out of the room.

Does she shut up when you cover her cage when you leave the room, or go to sleep at night? That used to shut my step mom's bird up.

She's lonely.

I've had Ollie (my bird) for a good 11 years. Just this year, every minute from sun-up to sun-down, is a screaming fest for her. If i'm not in my room, she will screech until I come back in. I could be in my room reading or watching TV, and she is quiet, but If I am sleeping in late she will scream until I get up. Can anyone tell me why, and help me keep this birdbrain quiet? Please help, she is stressing me out.

Thanks in advance.
