Why do some animals almost never move from one spot?

it's about conserving energy, why waste energy moving when they don't need too. the more energy they use the more calorie intake they will need, which means getting more food ( this applies to some animals not all)

Because it is their home or territory.

is this just the way they are?

ok ok i get it

its all about eating day to day

i saw a spider web outside my house there was a spider there its been in that spot for about 3 weeks rarely moving and of course it does manage to snag a couple of meals

so spiders wait for the food to come to them?

i was watching nat geo and there was this clam in the sea who moves to a spot and stays there for the rest of its life

do animals get bored in one spot?

what other animals do this
