It was a surprise genetic mistake which was very advantageous to water birds.... some water birds don't have web feet.
Really no other reason besides the webbing enabling the duck to push more water with it's feet in order to swim/turn faster.
So they can swim faster? Why do giraffes have long necks?
Random but why? I know they use it to paddle and stuff but idk anyone have anymore details? :)
