Firstly, there are many more herbivores than carnivores, so they are a more plentiful source of food. Secondly, the meat of carnivores generally tastes unpleasant - look at the animals we humans commonly eat, and they're generally herbivores for this very reason. It's nothing to do with the danger of hunting other predators - herbivores can be very dangerous and often kill predators. A lion could kill a leopard much more easily than a buffalo.
Incidentally, predators often kill other predators, but not for food. For example, lions will kill hyenas, leopards, cheetahs and so on to remove competition for prey, but do not eat them (unless they are starving, when any food will do).
Ray;mond is talking nonsense. Most carnivores do not eat the intestines of the prey at all - they contain partially digested vegetable matter, which carnivores cannot digest. On occasion, if they are very hungry, they might eat the skin of the intestines, but never the contents.
Because of the way the food chain works, there are generally a lot more herbivores around than there are carnivores, so herbivores would be easier to find and catch. Many predators will gladly eat another predator if they have a chance, though. They say that leopards prefer dogs over just about anything else.
The intestines of herbivorous and omnivorous have some nutrients that the carnivorous are short on, so they eat the intestines first. The carnivorous would not get this benefit from eating a carnivorous. Always is not correct.
Simply because it's less effort and less risk to hunt something that doesn't have big teeth and sharp claws.
This isn't always true, though. There are plenty of species which eat carnivorous animals, just not in the example you mentioned.
Think about it,,, you are a carnivore and a predator because you are human would you catch and eat a Goat or would you go catch and eat a Wolf ?
