Some are more skitterish than others so look at a group of them and pick the one who acts like it likes you. Choose by personality and not by color.
My first and only is a Green Cheek Conure but they're one person birds (only really prefer to be with one person and a pretty expensive otherwise a Cockatiel is a good bird.
parakeets are a good first bird, some even talk. also a cockatiel is a good bird. they are easy to train and like to be held. lovebirds are a little more money and need some work but they also make a good bird.

I need a bird that can stay alone and that can be handled. I don't really care if it talks or sings, but I dont want it needing a friend. I'd like a small bird that I can train and leave outside of the cage, and btw this is going to be my first bird so I'am not going to spend over 100$ on him and his supplies
