As a solitary animal, it will need to be quicker. And it has more stamina, despite lions having larger hearts and lungs; they overheat extremely fast due to the mane.
Lions are more compact and not as streamlined as the tiger. The lion has a big mane which slows it dow, but a tiger is more narrow while running.Lions can reach speed up to 40 miles per hour.A mane is protective fur.Discovery channel said that a lion is talle, longer AND faster.A tiger takes the prey by an ambush and one lioness chases zebra, antelope, whatever they chooses as a prey,and chase it to another lioness.This way lions are faster than tigers.
It all depends on physiology and the state of existence. Surrounding conditions determine this.
