You don't have to clip their wings, either, as their feathers cannot zip together, making flight impossible for them.
Some people clip their 'bangs' though, so they can see better!

The Black Sex link the babies you can tell the sex with the males having spots on the head to where the female has none. A quite type bird, good layers of brown eggs, AKA Red Rocks or Black Star. Weights F 5.5 M9 lbs.Don't get the bantams Only because they are flighty aggressive and escape alot.

Jersey Black Giants babies have a cream color on under side,wing tips and face area.Will be black with a green sheen to the feathers as adults so cool looking when the sun hits them just right. Excellent layers of brown eggs and are cold hardy. M 11 lbs F 8lbs.
Brown leghorn babies are browlight brown with 2 darker brown down the backs combs face areas and wattles are bright redhens will produce nice white eggs M6 lbs F 4.3 lbs.
Amerucana babies are same color s as the adults hardy type and lay a blue-green to a deep olive colored egg F5.5 M 6lbs
We just got 7 chicks today, we are working on getting the coop built then we'll bring them home... I'm hoping to add to my new flock, but am not sure which type to get. We are having them as pets and for eggs. Here are the types we have: 2 BlackSexLink, 1 Ameraucana, 3 Black Jersey Giant, and 1 Brown Leghorn. Thanks for your advise.
