Where can I find Pill Bugs/ Rolli Polies?

They need moisture. You will usually find them under rocks or some kind of debris that has been there a while like an old piece of cardboard. They eat dead plants and other detritus so look somewhere where there is thick vegetation that doesn't get mowed or maintained too often. You can keep them in a jar with moist soil. Something like a little fish food or dry cat food would do fine. It would probably be better to grind it up and add a little water to make it moist. They wouldn't need much. They would probably do better if they had some dark crevices they could crawl into like small rocks or something like that. Just keep them moist not wet. Too much water might make it moldy.

All woodlice are not created equal:

Under most any piece of wood on the ground, under the bark of deadfalls, etc. etc., where there is the least bit of moisture, you will find them.

No digging needed! ;-).....just flipping stuff over.

Hi. My assignment for Honors Biology is to find at least 10 pill bugs/rolli polies. Everybody says that you can find them near your house, but how far do i need to dig?, where are the best places to find them, and how to identify one? I need to find at least ten, so how should I take care of them.

Thank You!
