There are literally dozens of places you can get chickens within a reasonable distance. Check with the people who run your local feed store or farm supply store, craigslist, or the local newspaper classifieds. If you want something in particular, you can do a google search and see if there are any breeders nearby, or there is a huge poultry swap in Kankakee at the county fairgrounds coming up in the beginning of September and again in October.
