For no reason, it jumps and splashes about, making it easy for predators like Pidgeotto to catch it mid-jump.

I usually see these in my house and they are lightning fast. I never see them in webs, just always on the ceiling. I don't know if it is a hobo spider but maybe you can identify by the photo.
