Hoo noises normally come from owls and coming from the time you hear the noises its probably a owl

I hear a common animal sound usually from the late evening, over night until the very early morning. I've heard it mostly in ontario and Then I moved to Nova Scotia and I can hear it here too. I always assumed it was an owl because it makes a hooing sound but I'm not sure. It echos like a loon call. It's long and repeated the same exact time before. The duration in total per call is probably around 3 seconds. It starts by a off-toned hoo followed by three slow and low hoos. The three hoos get lower in tone.
