you need to find an avian specialist vet who can trim or shape the beak , a local breeder might also help , if the beak becomes overgrown or mis-shapen it will stop him eating properly
Hi everyone, i have a 13 year old rescue Pionus parrot that i foun outside 2 years ago and lately i have been noticing that his lower beak has been looking a little like it is chipped or kind of whittled away. Online everything has told me to give hum cuttlebones but he refuses to eat them and i do give him fruits and cegetables everyday. Lately he has been grumpy and ge wont allow me the touch him or get near his cage without him trying to bite me. His beak is also yellow on the bottom of his upper jaw and the top of his lower jaw. I am new to caring for Pionus parrots and have done an immense amount of research but i cant find anything to help me with his problem. Pleae Help if you can.
Thanks for reading and any help, Christian
