The best training, which i rate a 6 out of 5, and an A++++++ and have used on all my birds, is clicker training. The book is called The Bird School: Clicker Training for Parrots and in my opinion, that book is the best of them all. They teach biting parakeets to be sweet, they teach tricks and obedience, and, of course confidence for both birds and their owners. After a few weeks of clicker training, you guys will start to bond and be best buddies :D!!!
Also, if you're really scared of the budgies at first, you can always tell your mom to take the birds out and trim their wings, or you can always take it to a vet. If you want to know more about taking care of parakeets and safe handling, you should read the book Parakeet: Your happy healthy pet. This book teaches you how to deal with emergencies, how to trim wings and nails, and how to handle escaped pets and all that stuff.
Anyways, Good Luck with your parakeets and I hope you have an awesome time playing with them!!!!!
i went to buy some toys for my budgies today - i got these new budgies for two days. so when i went to open the cage and put the toys in, one of them flew out.
it went into the bathroom, and i was so scared because i never held a bird before, im scared of its beak, and talons and massive wings, to be honest im not a bird person, but my mum got it cos she loves them.
i went over to it with a towel and tried to wrap it around, and it chirps, i hated its stress calls so i bought a large box to lure it in, and i managed to put it back in the cage via the box...
when it flies, to me it looks so violent, it looked like it's attacking me. im soooo scared of it :(
