Male budgies do this when they are in heat or to show dominance over their territory. They may look sweet but can actually be quite vicious, for the females sake, take her away from him, do not frighten the male he is only doing what is in his nature and take your female to the vet to treat her injuries.

Hmmm not to be mean but scaring a budgie badly can be a result of it dying, don't continue to do this anymore if I were u I would sell him to someone who has a bit more experience all the luck :)

Attempting to scare your budgie into behaving is abusive. Why do separate him and put him in his own cage or give him to someone who can properly care for him. That would be the kindest thing to do.

I started to see some injures on my budgie, it started with a slightly hanging wing, to black eye and more, today when i went to my room, I saw the male budgie sitting on and bullying the female, i was going to give all my budgies away today, except those 2 anyway, they did mate a few times looong time ago, i punished the male (by scaring it BAD), should i give the male away and get another one? And yes, I saw injuries for a long time, even heard screams, but didn't think it was something big.
