Should I get a pet bird?

I feel like everyone needs to have a bird as a pet. Bird are so social and full of life

I have a peach-faced lovebird, it cost me $50 at a local pet shop. at first I really didn't want a bird but once I got used to and he got used to me, I feel in love with him. idk how other birds are but mine is so awesome. it chirps "keychain" and "prettybird". when I kiss him , he makes the sound back, he comes to me when I call him and he actually listens to me. he's my first bird and it was really easy to tame. you should really get a bird because they are amazing and will bring a smile to your face. but if you're busy most of the time or have other pets then it will be hard but I highly recommend it

monthly expenses:

food -$20

toys - $10

cage liner -$0 (newspaper)

one time /annual payments

cage -$60

annual vet visit -$70

once you think about it , its really not that expensive, you don't need anything fancy just what is necessary to keep a bird happy bird , good luck ! a pic of my bir

I have two canary birds. Ive had them for 1 year. Canaries are really

good singers and not hard to tame.

I bought them both from pets at home and they cost £45 together. The food for them is £3.99 large packet of seeds £5 millets £3.99 toys £3.99 food bowls and bird baths £3.99 and the cage is £20. Canary birds are really adorable cuddly birds and they dont make that much noise or mess aa long as you clean the cage once a week lool. Graham love is wrong!!! Birds are the second best, cutest pets of all. Also they are really fat omg and one of them laid 12 eggs altogether. I would really ho for canary birds if I was you. Good luck and I hope you buy a canary. Go to diffrent website to learn about them.

OK it depends which kind of bird you want. Yes, they're very hard work and then there's sky high vet bills to be paid and long vacations will be difficult. If you want a bird that sits with you and loves attention, that's practically impossible - you have no idea what personality this bird will have

They're wild animals and it's cruel to keep them locked up so much and they need regular cleaning out and bathing

My recommendation? Don't get a bird. Perhaps a little hamster would be nice - but they have a short lifespan

You're thinking of the good things first. Bad things should be thought over, too, when getting a pet:

What will happen when you go on vacation? You'll need a pet-sitter or friend.

Do you know how much attention and socialization they need? They need to be played with and handled for 2 hours a day.

How much money will you spend on vet bills? You'll need to be willing to pay whatever and whenever vet care is required. No home-made treatments. Never.

How much time will require cleaning the cage? 2 times a week you'll have to clean the cage.

How expensive are they? Well, that's up to you. If you're a good pet owner, they'll be very expensive with vet bills, food, toys, the cage, etc.

"I'd like to get a bird that will sit with me, that loves attention" No. Not possible. Not all birds come tame and human-friendly. Some HATE humans. You'll have to work with your bird a little each day until he comes used to you and your hands.

Just because you want a friend doesn't mean you want a pet.

My recommendation? No, don't get a bird.

It depends on what kind of bird you want. Geese can honk rather hard, so they make great guards.

I'm asking this to find out some information before I even consider getting a pet bird.

I'd like to get a bird that will sit with me, that loves attention or sitting in my top.

I've seen some are extreemly beautiful.

How long do they live for? How expensive are they? How loud are they? How difficult are they to care for and how much time/space do they take up?

If you have any more information for me I'd appreciate it.
