There will always be birds in pet stores, unfortunately. There's not much we can do. Some people are against buying animals from petco/petsmart ever, but if you ask me, as long as you're giving the bird a happy, forever home, then you're doing your part in keeping unwanted birds out of shelters.
If you don't want to adopt from a rescue(I understand they make you go through mad hoops to adopt) then I don't blame you. The important part is giving a bird a forever home. :)
PLEASE check your local amimal shelter. Usually there is a HUGE humane society with many many different kinds of animals in your major city. or use petfinder.com they will find a bird waiting to be adopted NEAR YOU!!! Or adopt a bird from petco. BUT MAKE SURE it is an adoption not you buying it. I highly doubt tho they have birds for adoption at petco....
I know most people like to get birds straight from breeders cause they're hand-tamed and more well behaved and have been cared for better but that's partially the reason I want to get one from Petco. The birds there don't receive much love and attention as birds from breeders do and look generally unhappy so I want to give one a better life. (I've had birds before which I got from breeders so I'm not inexperienced) Would you recommend this?
