Question about sharks?

Is it true that sharks cannibalize in the womb of their mother by eating thier siblings?

Some species do.

Sharks have little ones three ways.

1: Viviparity: kept within the womb. Pups are fed via the placenta/umbilical cord.

2: Oviparity: eggs are laid outside the body (also called mermaids purse)

3: Ovovivparious: eggs stay in the womb then hatch but the pups do not have the use of a placenta. This is where you will see them eat other eggs or one another to survive since they are not being fed by mom.

Does that help?

Yes its true!there are multiple fetuses or unborn babies inside the shark womb.and they all engage in a bloody fight and cannibalize the dead fetuses!it is sort of like a fitness of the best thing!the best fighter survives and is born strong!it is one of the many reasons why sharks survived for hundreds of millions of years!
