The egg must not be turned & the humidity should be raised to 94% the last three days before the expected hatch date. You could leave for a week but what if it hatches a day after you leave. The chick will starve. So you are not prepared to tend this egg for 28 to 30 days at 99.5F and 84% humidity. Your dog should be confined so it can not harm wildlife.
