It is next to impossible to hatch an unknown egg as one must know the expected hatch date. The egg must not be turned & the humidity should be raised to 94% the last three days before the expected hatch date. You could leave for a week but what if it hatches a day after you leave. The chick will starve. So you are not prepared to tend this egg for 28 to 30 days at 99.5F and 84% humidity. Your dog should be confined so it can not harm wildlife.
My dog very recently brought back a goose egg in his mouth. I have no idea where he got it from, but I decided to try to hatch it. I have created a homemade incubator for it and I have been turning the egg twice a day. I am going out of town for a week next week though, so I will not be here to turn the gig, and. O one will be able to be around to do it. What should I do?
