Never before seen species of fly?

Tachinid fly. They are actually beneficial, as many species parasitize pest species of insect. They do not carry diseases.

I never saw one either but I have seen dirt.

It's a tachinid - dirt common.

i just found this fly buzzing around my house, i captured him in a cup safely and took him outside to get a better look at him. after he was outside for less than a minute he flipped upside down and died almost instantly. This was not because of lack of oxygen, the cup had holes in it and everything. He also did not die because of heat, the newspaper i trapped him on top of was still chilled from the air conditioning in the house, and he was extremely active flying all over the place and then almost instantly curled up and died so its unlikely that he died because it was the end of his life cycle. I goggled all the characteristics of this fly and found nothing that was even slightly similar looking to the fly i found. anyone have any ideas on what species of fly this might be?
