I am a first time back yard chicken owner and petunia is about 5 months old. She is singing her egg song so we have been really excited about the coming soon eggs. We recently found this lump on her lower like stomach area ( I know chickens don't have stomachs) its definitely not her crop. Its below that. Like right before the area where her legs meet. It smells bad, however im not sure if its just the chicken or if it is the sore. We just picked her up from a farm. So she has the outside chicken smell Her siblings were abusing and pecking at her and she is about half the size of all her siblings. So there is some growth issue there, however she might just be a runt of the litter maybe?
Her comb is a nice bright red color (shes going to lay soon)
shes eating and drinking and theres nothing wrong with her poo, I just odnt know what this scab is or what to do about it. I have two images im going to upload
she is just the sweetest thing and so chill. Right now she is sleeping on a pillow next to me. She will lift her beak to my face for a kiss every now and then. I just hope she is ok ive been researching all day :(
Her beak has a black spot in the center at the base of the comb. Nothing else is wrong with the beak, its smooth and it doesn't seem to hurt her when I touch it.
She is a beautiful Ancona chicken. She loves bananas :)
