That is definitely a hen, we have a Rhode Island Red that looks just like her. I’m guessing that’s what yours’ breed is? We also have a Rhode Island Red rooster and I think it is just normal for the RIR hens to have large combs/wattles, because OUR rooster’s is MUCH bigger than your hens’ or ours! :) So don’t worry, she’s not a rooster, and doesn’t look like a rooster of her breed.

It is definitly a hen if that is her picture. Many times there will be hens that look like roosters. By her facial redness she appears to be ready to lay eggs as well. Put her in a pen by herself a few days and see if you don`t get an egg.

Her head does look like a rooster, although I do not see a fifth talon and the rest of her body looks like a hen. She is pretty though. BTW, my chickens are Black Australorps. Great egg layers and mean roosters. They keep the JWs off my property.

So i have a hen but she looks like a rooster she doesn't act like a rooster tho I never heard her crow but all my other hens (I have no roosters) don't look like her is she actually a rooster or what?
