My cockatiel is laying eggs without a male.....help!!!?

Do you know which bird layed the eggs? The lutino could still be male as the mates often take turns caring for the eggs/chicks. Get both birds dna tested to determine for certain their true genders. This can be done relativly cheaply if you take the time to ring round a few places. It is normal for birds to lay their eggs over a few days. If you want to breed them (provided they are both female) get two males but put the pairs in seperate breeding cages to provent fights or the parents feeling threatened.

If you want more cockatiels, then you should get A male. Male Cockateils can be aggressive over breeding and they could fight each other for one female. Males will fertilize the eggs yes, but no male=unfertilized eggs. You should ask a vet or a professional to determine what sex it is. Many times, petstores like petsmart or petco get the gender wrong.

You should get a nesting box,

i think the eggs could be infertile meaning the eggs wont hatch

I brought two cockatiels lutino and grey 5 months ago. I am able to identify that the grey is female. I did not know about the lutino whether it is male or female, the shopkeeper told that it was a male and the grey was a female. The grey is very small. It has just matured. 2 days before, I saw an egg in my cockatiel's cage( in the breeding pot ). I heard that cockatiels lay 4-6 eggs at a time, but, there was only 1. The lutino is sitting all the time on the egg. So, I think it is a female. The next day , it laid an egg again. Now i have 2 eggs. Are these unfertilized eggs? If i get a male will it lay fertilized eggs? Should i get 1 or 2 males because there are two females. Can 2 pairs breed and live in a single cage?
