The female actually bonds closer to one person like it would it's mate but can still be friendly to other people depending on how it's raised. Males from what I've seen don't bond to humans as if they were their mate but still can be just as friendly. We have a female at home and she's friendly to all of us but sticks to my mum like glue.

I'm female so should I get a male or female Cockatoo?? Will the gender of the bird effect the kind of bond we'd have? Would a male have a stronger bond because of the gender difference or would he think I'm his mate and get mixed messages?? Could a female do that too?
