Lovebirds as pets?

lovebirds can make great pets, but they're USUALLY not the kind of bird you take out and play with. also, if you do get a lovebird, you really need to buy 2, as they do not do well on their own. there ARE exceptions to the rule, I have heard of some getting extremely close to their parronts, but if you're looking for a real hands on bird, why not look in to aa quaker parrot? they are reasonably cheap and one of the smartest, best talkers in the bird world. Or a conure? Or cockatiels are also reasonably cheap and can be so loving. Research it all on google and youtube, look up the different personalities and check craigslist, NEVER buy from a petstore. Birds make the most amazing pets! just remember, many have extremely long lifetimes, so if you're planning to go to college and leave home in a few years, you may wanna hold off for a bit. Best of luck to you, my friend!

Hi I was just wondering what lovebirds are like as pets, I've been doing some research but would like to know from people who have experiences. I'm a teenager 16 and passionate about my pets. I would really like to buy one and I am definitely going to get one from a breeder that hand-raises them if I do get one. Also what colors are more expensive than the others form a breeder that hand-raises them? Thanks :)!
