Is this spider deadly?

Nope, this is one of the least offensive members of the cobweb spider family, the Triangulate cobweb spider. This spider has fangs which are very small and angled in such a way that they cannot bite humans. In spite of the fact that they are related to widow spiders, there are no know cases of a bite in a human from this species.

To compliment L.N.'s response, these are totally harmless house spiders, I keep them around for pets, and have even played with them.

My little gal made a small egg sac just after this photo, she lived under my fuse box:

No but it car hurt.

She's so gorgeous and I couldn't smash her.. so I put her in a jar. I'm gonna be releasing her tomorrow. BUT. Is she dangerous? I live in the capital, in the very center. A widely populated area, I don't want to hurt anyone by releasing her.

And also, do you know what "breed"/"kind" of spider she is? A friend suggested it might be a false widow?
