This is a ground spider, and quite harmless.

You really don't have to fear any spider. Not likely you will find harmful spiders indoors, and you don't even have to fear them. Just respect they can have a bad bite, and don't play with them.

I was keeping black widows for pets when I was 7 or 8 , so there is nothing with 8 legs that scares me in the slightest.
