Humans provide food sources, such as bird feeders or squirrel feeders that are replenished regularly, once a flying squirrel has found a prevalent food source, it will look for a nesting site that is relatively close to that food source, i'm assuming you may have some sort of garden or bird feeder and that's why he is so close to your house.
They are harmless to humans unless they nest inside your home (probably an attic) and their droppings can be biohazourdous, and many other things, but the animal itself isn't harmful to humans (unless attacked, and even then it would run away and hide)
Of course it is a flying squirrel & flying squirrels are harmless towards humans.
I was sitting in my living room when all of a sudden I heard something hit our screen.
I know the picture was at a weird angle, and may be hard to see.
Was this a flying squirrel? If so, Do they bite, or will they harm a human?
This may be a crazy question, but that thing scared the mess out of my husband and I. Thanks in advance!
