It appears to be a paper wasp. It must have a nest somewhere in your vicinity or it wouldn't be in your house. They sting.

They can be aggressive stingers when their nests are disturbed or they are threatened.

So my room overlooks the front lawn and there is a gutter right above my window. In rare occasions I spot this INSIDE my room even when my windows are shut. This probably comes through the gap between my top and bottom window. I was afraid this was gonna sting so i bug sprayed it and just was wondering what kind of insect this was. insect experts, please let me know if this has nested anywhere near my house and if this is harmful to humans and dogs.
