You could argue that it would make dogs appear less intelligent, because they rely on their sense of smell a lot and evolution-wise their whole brains and bodies are geared towards having that sense of smell. Without it, they would operate at a diminished capacity.
I ask this because it stands to reason that if a dog's smell is however many times stronger than a humans then it would require a large amount of brain power to process the sensation. If the sensation was lessened or taken away, and the dog was in the right environment, would it then be able to use that brain power in other ways?
