I've found a baby bird. What should I do?

It's an old wives tale that the parent bird will abandon a nest or young if touched by humans. Put the little one in the nest and keep the cat inside! It's illegal to take in wildlife unless you are getting it to a wildlife rehab center!

If you can't find the nest, the baby bird has no chance. So you should just give it to the cat. It's the circle of nature.

Birds will take care of any baby in their nest. You could probably care for it yourself. Look up on youtube how to feed a baby bird. Aside from feeding babies, the mama's dont really do much else. They dont teach the babies how to fly or anything like that so you could rehab that baby bird yourself and it will be just as apt to survive in the wild.

It's not that the scent throws the bird off guard, it's the loss of sight. But other than that, I agree with Kathy. So if you are DEFINITELY SURE that the nest you see is his, place him back, wait and watch for the mother/father/other creepy bird come to feed him. If nothing happens, keep him :)

You have put your scent all over it so the mama bird will think that it's not hers. So even if that nest is the little baby's bird don't risk putting it in. The mama bird will just kick him/her out. Or not care for it.

Try to give it some formula not sure what kind but just try..... Bird products is also a good idea. Make it a little nest and make it feel at home. Keep it warm. You can eventually keep the honey but if you can't or don't want to you can go ahead and go to the vet.

The vet can help you care for it and afterwards you can ask what to do with it if you don't want it.

I think you should keep it as a pet. :)

I walked outside and my little sadist of a cat was knocking him around. I think I know where his nest is but I don't know for sure if i should put him in it, since it may not be his. What should I do with him?

I've been calling him 'Kyle'.
