I have a broody hen that is sitting on about 12-15 eggs. My mom said we should get rid of them but I wanted to keep them and see if they're fertile. She has been sitting on the eggs for about 2 weeks. Is that long enough to tell if they are fertile yet? I have done this last year with another batch of eggs where I would put a flashlight up to the egg, but I wanted to make sure they were mature enough before I would candle them. I don't want to crack one open and see that there is a baby chicken in there I would be disgusted. Anyways hopefully you can help me!! (:
