Try saying it and doing the motion at the same time. Then when he gets used to your voice try it without motion. If he doesnt do it repeat it until he understands.

I've been trying to teach my Sun Conure tricks, and he's learning well, but I do notice that he does tricks based on the motion that I give, not what I say. For example, when I say 'shake', he doesn't lift his feet up. But when I point a finger at his foot, he puts his foot up. Or if I say 'spin', he doesn't spin, but if I do a spinning motion with my finger, he spins.

How do I teach him tricks based on my voice, not motion? I say the trick word (spin, shake, etc..) when he does the trick, but it hasn't been working.
