How to incubate a Mallard duck egg?

You have a great desire to try to hatch this egg . In all reality its probably not fertile. Birds will lay eggs with no intention of them hatching. If you do not have the proper incubator and know how old this egg is don't waist your time on it. At this point if the egg was fertile it is dead now.

So I was walking outside and I found this egg by my porch just sitting there. I was thinking the dogs brought it up or something. There's lots of Mallard ducks around here so I assumed it was that kind of egg. I searched for a nest or more eggs but never found it. So I decided to incubate it myself, except I'm not really sure how. I don't have many heat products but I do have a little heating pad that I used for my snake. Well, It's a spare. Anyway, I was thinking of putting the egg in this little terrarium and putting the heating pad in it and putting the egg on this wash cloth and then turning the egg and all that stuff. Is that a good idea? Any help or tips would be appreciated, thank you!
