This is what i would do to get poop off your bird.get a clean spray bottle fill it with warm water and soak them good, 2 x a day the poop will fall off and your birds need to be sprayed each day more in the summer. also read up on yahoo.com ( all about fancy parakeets ) this web page will help you understand your birds there food, toys they like and much more...good luck

I've recently gotten two parakeets, one male, one assumed female (they're both young, so we won't be sure until they're taken to the vet). I know you're not supposed to even attempt to touch them for a few days so that they can get settled in. The problem is that the female tried going to the bathroom, but it's stuck to her and won't fall off. It's starting to dry, and I don't know if I should leave it or attempt to help her? I've only had them for a day, so I don't really want to startle either of them.

Also, I had another question. Do parakeets get mean once they start to mate? My dad used to have birds when he was little, and when they started mating, they got really mean. Note that I'm not sure which type of birds, but I figured I'd ask.
