Well this will depend on the type you have I have a coop thats set wont move with a cement floor and pens and roosts and areas for the hens to rest to lay the eggs all in one area pens are for broody hens or injured . roost for the birds to roost on at night nest areas are 2 spots with 3 nest boxes each. Plenty of room for all. I rake all the waste up dispose of this then wash the floor well with water sometimes soap and the pens when are empty for bug control and the nest areas I change the hay they rest in at least 1 a week and now summer is here I do it 2Xs a week. The floor I cover with dirt this absorbs the waste better and alot easier to clean and the dirt act as a cushion for the birds feet.I replace new clean hay in nest boxes and clean down the roost area as well be sure to allow the coop to dry well before adding your items since chickens cant take mold.
On the other hand if have a moveable coop the clean up is left behind when you move the coop.
Hey,
I found a good online site with detailed plans on how to build your own chicken coop http://www.downloadita.it/r/rd.asp?gid=4...
you could just move it if its a tractor coop ir it is and you need to clean the inside them you could put dried grass and newspaper underneath and just take it out when you clean the coop and change it to clean newspaper and new dried grass
A floor scaper is a very effective way of removing the muck from the floor
I am soon getting my first chicken coop, but I am a bit confused on how to clean it. Do you just move the chicken coop every week, or do you pick up the individual droppings?
