Well if he loves you a lot and you guys had a strong bond then he might remember. This is really sad, hope you do get it back you guys seem really close.

I have a friend who has an African Grey. Her bird had not seen this person for eight years.The person always called the bird "Bird Brain" When she opened the door to let the person in, the moment the bird heard his voice the bird said ,"Hi Bird Brain".

Yes indeed parrots have very long memories. I own a rehomed pionus . I have had him for about 11years . He doesn't talk much but the other day he popped out with words I know he never ever heard in my home. Birds may change allegiance but I don't think they ever forget.

I had a parrot (red headed canure) from when I was 2 until 13 but we had to give him away due to a family members health. Thinking about that day is one of the only things that makes me sad and because I had him for so long I still do think of it every once in a while

I'm 19 now so it's been 6 years. And it's messed up but I'm still not over it. I was just wondering if he even remembers? We were the same age so he'd be 19 now too
