How hard is it to kill an ant-eater?

I was wondering how hard is it to kill an ant eater? Do they have preditors? Do they attack humans? What are there natural defenses? Could you kill one with your bare hands?

The giant ant-eaters of South America would probably as difficult to kill as any other wild animal of their size, but why would you want to kill one? They eat ANTS as indicated by their name and would not attack humans except to protect themselves or their young.

They do have large, strong front claws for burrowing into ant and termite nests. I would not consider taking one on bare-handed. Anything that can dig into hardened mud almost as strong as concrete, could cause you some real damage.

Just shoot with a shotgun will do. But anteaters don't hurt humans so there isn't a need to kill it.
