How do farmers resist the smell of animal poop?

After a while your body just simply builds up a tolerance to it. Trust me, cow feces is nowhere near as bad as that of a vulture, and after working in a zoo for long enough, I became very used to that through daily exposure.

They build up a tolerance. Personally I've lived most of my life in the city but was initially raised in a more rural area, so I'm not offended by the smell so much.

It's not that bad, especially if you have reached the level of olfactory fatigue. I've smelled cattle manure and I've smelled humans who needed to bathe. The humans were far worse.

You brain categorizes things into normal noise and exceptional things to notice.

I think the mind takes between a few minutes to a few days to re-categorize or rewire.

I.e. if you put up with **** long enough it no longer stinks.

Same way why u can't smell mucus in your nose!!

They are used to it.... :P

I just took a drive through rural Pennsylvania and I could smell the cow **** all the way from the road! So imagine if the smell is that strong 100 or so yards from the driver on the road it must be really strong for farmers who handle animals up close.
