I work at a pet store and what we usually do to the birds is gently grabbing them with a towel (so they don't bite you), lay them on your chest, feed them some tasty treats (apples, millet, etc.) and talk to them ever so softly. Do this everyday until your parakeet feels comfortable with you. Sooner than you think, you two will be the best of friends!

I've had my parakeet for roughly three months and he is around 8 month old. He lives alone. I made the mistake of trying to tame him on the first day by having him step on my finger which he did but he didn't like it at all. He sometimes eats millet from my hand and I got him to step on to my finger by leading him on with the millet a few times. But I just want him to trust me and want to go on my finger and join me out of the cage.

Also he doesnt really touch his touch( I have a wide variety for him) any suggestions? And whatsyour opoption on the wingcliping
