How can we catch this budgie?

You might have to use a large net, either a boat landing net or, if you can use one, a throw net. The standard bird net is called a mist net but only people who have banding licences are likely to have them. Technically, if you catch any native bird, you are in violation of federal law, though.

Have you tried putting out a birdcage with the door open? I bet that will work. Otherwise, yeah, use the net.

really not much since all the other birds fly so will him.. good luck

Can I have more info on this?

I volunteer several times a week at an animal shelter. We're technically only licensed to care for dogs and cats, but of course the people there are concerned about all animals. For the past few weeks, we've noticed a white and gray budgie has been visiting our bird feeder along with all the sparrows that hang around there. It clearly used to be someone's pet and is still somewhat tame--when someone approaches, it usually keeps feeding even after all the sparrows around it have flown away. However, no one has gotten close enough to touch it.

How could we catch this bird? We've been putting seed in a cat carrier in the hopes that it will fly in, but it doesn't seem to be working. What can we do?
