Most cockatiel breeders use the cockatiel seed mix and add fruit or veg. daily.It is the same if you take a dog or a cat to the vet,they always try to sell you so called special food.The bird is making the noise because he is hungry.Keep on a good quality seed mix and forget the pellets.If seed is fed by me and hundreds of other breeders what does that tell you.
He eats only seeds, tried converting him to pellets by slowly decreasing the amount of seeds and increasing the amount of pellets, but no luck he still picks out the seeds! The vet suggested 90% pellets and 10% fruits and veggies.. but he just won't eat the pellets! And when there are only pellets in his cage and no seeds he starts making these noises as if he is crying... i don't know what to do! help needed please!!
