You're keeping the bird from injuring itself when trim it's feathers. How would you like to be making soup when the bird flies into the pot? I've seen many birds die this way. Or what if the bird was startled and got sucked into the ceiling fan? Or smashed into the window?
There is no way to keep the bird from flying if you don't clip it's wings. If a bird can fly, it's going to. That's like you having perfectly good legs, but choosing to crawl everywhere anyway. So, if you don't clip the birds wings, it will fly.
If you don't clip the wings, then the bird is capable of flying away. Just be sure (if you won't clip wings) to confine the bird in a room where it cannot escape when you let it out of the cage to fly some.
Take him to the avian vet to clip his wings if you do not know how to or dont feel sure.. This prevents many injuries and even the death of your bird. If you think this is cruel or painful you have nothing to worry about, it is like a haircut for a human being.
Please Dont clip his wings. would you like someone to cut
your hands off, I know people may say its not the same
thing, BUT IT IS TO THE BIRD"(Duh)!!!!
I dont think its right to clip there wing's
