Easy answer....cover your bird cage early,, make sure he is in a quiet room,, problem solved.....good luck

I've heard that an African Grey needs 10 hours of sleep a day.I have a 5 month old African grey,and she does not sleep if her cage is not covered with a blanket.However,when I do cover he with the blanket,she looks tense,her feathers go up and she climbs to the bottom of her cage where it is not covered with the blanket.I also hear her whistling in the middle of the night.I'm really concerned because when I don't cover her,she doesn't sleep at all.I have a smaller cage for her too.Should she sleep in there instead?
