Help just got a new bird?

I have had a similar experience. I bought a lovebird that was never hand raised and was probably kept in a large aviary with many other birds because she was terrified of people even aggressive. You could say she was feral. It took me about 3 months to tame my bird. What I would suggest is keep your bird in a room that 1. they can look out the window and maybe hear other birds. It will help keep your bird from getting lonely. 2. make sure there are no other people or animals looking for your bird because you want to minimize the amount of stress you put on your bird at this time. 3. if your bird bites "DO NOT PUT A GLOVE ON" it will only terrorize your bird more. I would suggest putting multiple "nude" color band aides on your finger where you find that your bird is biting or will be likely to bite. This will lessen the pain and your bird wont notice the band aide because it is a natural color. P.S. I found that once I had tamed my bird she did not recognize me because I had my nails painted and this phase would start every time I applied a new or changed the color of my nails.

Did you just get him in this past week? All of my birds have done similar things. Just give them time to their new living environment, talk to it nicely and try to feed your bird some food so it will begin to like you. After a week or so, I put a stick into the cage next to my birds and press up on the birds stomach lightly until it steps onto the stick. Once it gets used to that, try using your finger. If it bites you, DO NOT panic or jerk your hand away or yell or anything of that sort because it will only scare your bird. It probably only bit you for self defense. Once the bird is comfortable around you and perching on your finger, you can begin to train it to talk and do trick! I hope that I helped

1.Put your hand in the cage for a minute twice a day

2.Leave the Cage door open but don't stand in front of the door, it might think your threatening it

3.Try To feed it from your hand

4.If it plucks or scratches it means its depressed, and so you should probably get a mate

5. Feed It bread and cornflakes from your hand sometimes as a treat

6. After this it should put its head down for you to pet, for me it took about 4 days

I recently bought a new bird, he is a cockatiel. I have never had a bird before and I am not sure how to tame him. He is not a hand fed bird and he is terrified of me. I looked online on how to tame him but I can't do any of that stuff cuz he is in his cage and he won't come out even if I lure him. If I bring my hand near his cage he gets terrified and backs up in a corner. I'm not sure if I can do anything cuz so far nothing is working right now. I need help on how I am supposed to train him if I can't interact with him in any way.
