Teramyacine is often added to chickens drinking water for infection prevention. Ask a bird expert about using a little of that in the Parakeets water.It isn`t very expensive. You can keep the vent cleaned by hand..but make very sure you moiston the poo very well before attempting to remove it or you might tear it s delicate skin.

I have a young parakeet (a budgerigar), but recently he's been all fluffed up, and now I've noticed that he has poop stuck on his vent. What should I do, I don't have the option of taking him to the vet. What can i do to help it?
